Warranty & Service
Smappee offers a 2-year warranty on their EV Chargers which is set out in sections 8 and 9 of their general terms and conditions. The terms include the common exclusions for things like improper use and installation.
Most EV Chargers on the market come with a 2-year or 3-year warranty, so it is a shorter offer than expected from Smappee for a premium-priced solution.
Although Smappee don’t have a local office, their local representation in Australia is through strategic partner State of Charge. State of Charge will support distributors and installers of Smappee products to co-ordinate any warranty claims. Should I Buy a Smappee EV Charger?
Smappee’s EV chargers come in at a high price point which presents a barrier for the residential market. With a high price tag, the expectations in terms of functionality and offer is equally high. The Smappee charger delivers on most of the technical aspects, particularly energy management.
It would be great to see Smappee establish a local office and support staff to assist Australian residential customers and also offer a longer warranty period to support their premium pricing.
