The sales process was easy and un-pressured. Solar Choice provided 3 suppliers (2 local and one Melbourne based on-line) and 3 indicative quotes which weren’t strictly comparable, but gave a good starting point and basic configuration. I also sourced a fourth quote locally. Tom Wylie of Spot-On AC and electrical was friendly and helpful in recommending a certain size of system (number of panels) and hybrid inverter based on a proposal to possibly add solar batteries later. His quote was competitive so we went with him, a local supplier. We have not needed post-installation support but know that it is available if we need it. We will probably go back to Spot-On when we decide to install batteries. In the meantime it has been interesting to monitor the generation capabilities of our system using the Fronius web-app. We didn’t make the investment in a solar system to make money but to ease pressure on the grid and minimise our bills, in our bit to assist the environment.

Tom and his team were spot on! They arrived on time at 0630 and were all done before lunch. Wouldn't even stop for a cup. Readily accommodated my change of inverter location and left the site spotlessly tidy. Installed 30 panels and a 10k 3 phase Fronius after removing a degraded 5 k system. Thanks Tom! Very pleased with the outcome.

We had a 15kW solar System supplied and installed by Tom and he was fantastic. He was one of the few people who actually came to the property and looked at the farm shed I originally wanted to install the solar on. He said it would not support the weight, which was a concern of mine too. I did not want them on the house roof so he suggested an array in the paddock. It turned out great. We have had some scarily high winds since, and it has had zero issues. Also choosing the ground array meant we could face all the panels into the optimum direction. So even on cloudy days we are still producing power. Tom is hard working and very easy to deal with. He is happy to answer questions and give advice and alternatives if needed, and work with you to get what you want done. It took a bit longer than the original estimate, but that was partly weather, and Tom wanting to give the supports ample time to harden. He left the job site really clean as well. I would have no problem recommending him to do a solar install as well as any electrical work needed.
