Koala Solar is a local, family-run business based in sunny Perth, WA. Our installation team are CEC accredited solar installers – experienced electricians on a mission to help all West Australians achieve energy independence. We are also CEC approved solar retailers, a Fronius Solutions partner and Certified Tesla Energy installers. You’ll notice the systems we install are a little different: quality Tier 1 solar products that include a 10-year workmanship warranty, aftercare support and maintenance.
Being a WA company, owned by locals, means more of your solar investment stays in the state economy. After tip toeing through the absolute minefield of dodgy solar companies I was fed up with all the overseas call centres and extreme sales tactics. I actually ignored the koala Solar ads multiple times, thinking they were another "fly by night" foreign owned company. As soon as I finally called them and spoke to somebody that speaks English as a first language I was pleasantly surprised. It was such a relief to just speak to someone on the phone that knew what they were talking about and weren't just trying to feed me full of sales BS to lock me in. The entire process from initial phone call to installation was just a nice straight forward, no BS experience. Everything was explained in detail and one of the owners was here doing the install. As a small business owner myself, I know that when the person that owns the business does the work, it will be done properly, because that person's business rep is on the line. Install is very neat, and producing a good amount of KWH even though it's winter time. Opted for a smart meter for extra $. The smart meter is definitely a good investment that will pay itself back easily because it allows me to see real time power usage vs solar generation, and learn how to use the system efficiently. I highly recommend this company to everyone looking for an honest, transparent and straight forward solar install. This is my review that I also left on Google. I'm not a bot, just to lazy to type it all out again :-)
Solar Panel - Jinko
I did a fair bit of research on components and brands and just wanted a panel with good efficiency that would pay itself back in a reasonable time. We have 6.6kw of panels with a 5kw inverter and even though it's winter, system is producing 5kw in the middle of the day as long as the sun is out.
Solar Inverter - Fronius
Chose this brand because of the built in fan, meaning that the inverter is more efficient when its really hot in summer.

Fantastic company to deal with local family owned and operated company, received quote and one follow up call to make sure we received the quote , the quote was super competitive and we decided to proceed with the system, at no time were we pressured to sigh the deal , communication was excellent and on the day of installation we were extremely happy with installation process, the team went out of there way to explain everything and helped set up the system on our mobile phones, I would have no hesitation in recommending Koala Solar to anyone

Excellent sales process with knowledegable staff. Installers were on time and very tidy and no broken tiles. I checked the roof install and it appears to be very well done. From start to finish to 6 hrs for a 5kw hybrid inverter, 24 x jinko 440w panels and a 19.2kwh battery install and removing 13 x old Rec panels.

I'm happy with the output and it fills the battery pretty quickly plus the black panels look good too.
Solar Inverter - Sungrow
I chose the Sungrow as it was one of the few that would let me oversize my panels by 200%. It goes well with my sungrow battery.
Battery - Sungrow
It has a good monitoring app and does what I need it to do plus it compliments the inverter that was purchased with it.
