Sale negotiations were already in progress when our existing electric hot water system started leaking continuously. We had been expecting it to fail based on its age rust and some long delays in hot water delivery. We decided that Reclaim would be quiet enough for the location it would need to be in. Having had experience of and looked closely at and listened to three other brands on offer from local installers, we wanted a very quiet and efficient unit. The Reclaim Energy. It is a more expensive option than the other brands but the efficiency ratings claimed and noise level persuaded us to opt for it anyway. Then our old electric hot water service decided to force us into action. We accepted the quote we were still thinking about on the Friday afternoon. It was fully installed on the following Monday. Great work by the Geelong Heat Pumps team. The operation of the unit on option 4 is very quiet indeed. The fan is almost silent. It is delivering hot water much quicker than we are used to in all our outlets with a hot tap. The unit ran for a while until the tank was completely ready and now starts at 10:00am. each day. Today it had finished running some time between 11:00 and midday. That suggests that it doesn’t need a long time to run at this time of year. We have a small solar set up which doesn’t fully get up over the 1000 level until around 11:30 at this time of year. We may adjust the settings to option 5 and run the Reclaim a bit later. It is nice to have the option to set up better timings. So far: It is win win with the unit. The installation is neat and the offset from the wall of the compressor unit is correct. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
