Solar Choice was engaged by the chairperson of the strata committee for Eastbrook Village which is a high rise apartment building in East Perth. Amongst other motivations, the committee was interested in having solar installed to improve the attractiveness and property value of the apartments for prospective buyers.
The solution developed included a 100kW solar system which capitalised on nearly all the available roof space and retrofitting an embedded electricity network. This involves transitioning the building to one master meter with Western Power and setting up a private billing network for individual apartment owners.

The benefit of this design is the purchase power of the entire building is better than one individual owner so they can obtain much better rates. Additionally solar power can be installed at the master meter level so that the benefits of solar can be equally shared across all the residents of the building.
Solar Choice’s partner who installed the project were experienced both in commercial solar installations and the design, install and ongoing operation of a embedded network. The installed system features 280 x Canadian Solar panels and 2 x SMA Inverters.
