Brisbane Showgrounds installs 600kW Solar System

The Brisbane Showgrounds, located in Bowen Hills, Brisbane, is a versatile venue with a rich history dating back to 1875. It hosts over 250 events annually, including the Royal Queensland Show, its largest and most prominent event.

Solar Choice was engaged by an RNA working group to develop a solar business case and oversee the tender process for a 600kW solar system installation.

The successful tender resulted in the installation of 1,112 Longi Solar panels and four 110kW Sungrow inverters. The system is expected to generate 948,835 kWh of renewable energy in its first year.

With projected annual savings exceeding $100,000, the system will offset 16,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions over its lifetime. The estimated payback period for the project was 5.9 years.
