Tesla has cut the price of their popular Solar battery, the Powerwall 2, by $650 to $11,700 including supporting hardware. This is the listed price on their website for direct sales to customers and does not include installation costs.
While this 5% reduction in costs won’t transform the business case for a household to install a solar battery, this is a good sign that batteries are once again decreasing in price as manufacturing production increases.
