Queensland based Sisters of St Joseph, has installed a 65kW system on the roof of their convent in Nundah, Brisbane.
The centre was looking to make a positive impact on the environment by reducing the carbon footprint of its convent. This project will offset an estimated 1,843 tonnes of CO2 emissions which is the equivalent of taking over 20 cars permanently off the road.
Solar Choice was engaged to provide independent analysis and advice on the different options available to the facilities manager and manage a competitive tender process which enabled the convent to access better than market rates.
The installed solar power systems feature 161 x 405W Canadian Solar Panels and 2 Sungrow Inverters. Overall, the solar power systems will save the centre over $180k in electricity costs over the next 20 years.
