Australian homes and businesses installed another 175MW of solar panels for the month of August, the latest data from market analysts SunWiz has shown.
The report shows the rooftop PV market appears to have found its groove, sitting somewhere within the record monthly levels of 150MW and 200MW since October last year.
“Looking back over the past year, the market has effectively plateaued,” said SunWiz managing director Warwick Johnston in his Insights report for August 2019.
The data shows that the residential market grew slightly, overall, and there was an upwards trend in commercial, despite falls in the 10-20kW and 75-100kW segments.
Johnston notes that the Victorian market also recovered slightly, but warns that this is likely to show a reversal in September data, due to the impact of the state’s rooftop rebate.
On a state-by-state basis, Queensland has emerged as the leading market for 10-30kW PV installations, while Victoria leads in 30-100kW.
