Solar Choice welcomes Nitin Nampalli as its newest contributor to the company’s news service, Solar Choice News. Nitin, a PhD candidate researching solar photovoltaics at the University of New South Wales, will be keeping Solar Choice News readers and Solar Choice staff alike abreast of recent developments in the field of solar photovoltaic technology.
Nitin brings with him an impressive educational background, holding a Master of Engineering Science in Renewable Energy Engineering from UNSW as well as a Bachelor of Science in Microelectronic Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. He is the recipient of numerous academic honours and awards, including the TFS Scholarship for Post-graduate studies from UNSW and a nomination for the Rochester Institute of Technology Outstanding Undergraduate Scholar Award (2010).
His research undertakings complement his studies. He has spent over 1 year as a postgraduate researcher with Australia’s own Suntech R&D in partnership with UNSW, where he fabricated mini-modules to investigate the durability and reliability of next-generation encapsulation & interconnection materials. He has presented the results of this and other research at conferences in the USA and Japan.
Nitin’s other accomplishments include a number of engineering projects, including design of stand-alone and grid-connected PV systems. He has also spent time at FormBay’s office in Sydney, where he provided Renewable Energy Certificate compliance support for solar PV installation companies across Australia.
