Lithium has become the chemistry type of choice for grid-connect home solar battery storage in Australia (although lead acid still rules the off-grid space – for now). There are actually several different types of lithium batteries that are commercially available now, but the main two are lithium nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) and lithium iron phosphate (LFP or LiFePO4).
